NAME OF WOMAN CHARGED IN ANIMAL CRUELTY CASE NOW KNOWN

With an investigation into the treatment of animals on a nearby farm continuing, the name of the woman charged has surfaced.
The Examiner reports that court documents show the 56 year-old facing 33 counts of animal cruelty is Sandra Reed-Buyers.
She is known locally for being the previous owner of the Whisper Ridge Ranch.
Reed-Buyers is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Offences Court on August 16th.
Recently, one horse, one goat, three dogs and 22 sheep were removed from the rural property when they were found to be emaciated and in need of care.
The animals are now at the Peterborough Humane Society.
