The Lakefield Chiefs put a big number on the board in Bowmanville.

The Chiefs beat the Clarington Eagles 8-3 yesterday.

Matt McIntyre led the attack with three goals and two assists.

Jeff Hawthorne also had two goals and three assists, with the other member of that line Aaron Vatcher chipping in with a goal and three assists.

A Peterborough-native has been honoured for an outstanding rugby season.

Mohamed Yusuf was named an OUA All-Star recently for his performance for Trent.

The Excalibur finished the year 0-8.

Home court advantage didn't do enough to spark the Fleming volleyball teams.

Both men's and women's teams were swept in three sets by the Durham Lords on Saturday.

The next action for the Knights will be against Canadore on Friday night.

The Fleming men's basketball team finished their weekend with a win.

The Knights thumped La Cite 100-71 yesterday afternoon.

On Saturday, they were beaten 71-52 by Algonquin College.

Fleming is in action next at home on Saturday against Centennial.
