Police are asking for help from the public as they try to identify a theft suspect.

Just before 10am yesterday, a man apparently knocked on the door of a Maryland Avenue home which also doubles up as an in home business.

The victims told authorities that they answered the door assuming it was a customer, and the suspect forced his way into the home with a knife and demanded cash.

The victims apparently handed over an amount of money, and as the suspect took off, the male victim chased the culprit down and during a confrontation was able to retrieve the stolen money and personal id.

The thief was last seen getting into a vehicle in the area of Chamberlain Street. He is described as white with a thin build, 5'9", wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black backpack and black sunglasses.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Peterborough Police or Crime Stoppers.
