Funding from the provincial government is making a few summer event organizers sing.

Celebrate Ontario helps fund 304 festivals and events across the province, at a tune of $19M.

Five events in the Peterborough area are receiving funding including Peterborough Musicfest. Board chair David Feeley says they are receiving $52,713

Musicfest kicks off on July 1st with Kim Mitchell.

Also cashing in a cheque from the province is Randy Smith of Smithhavens Brewery, who along with Publican House Brewery are receiving $4000 for the June 9th Kawartha Craft Beer Festival

He says the Millennium Park event runs about $56,000 a year to put on.
