UNITED WAY OF PETERBOROUGH REVEAL THEIR 75TH ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN RESULTS

The results are in for the 2016 United Way of Peterborough 75th anniversary campaign. A total of $1.82 million was raised last year reaching 91% of set goal of $2 million.

PETERBOROUGH POLICE OFFICER PLEADS GUILTY AT HEARING

An officer with the Peterborough Police Service is being demoted. Constable Brock Boynton previously pled guilty to impaired driving charges after being found asleep behind the wheel while off duty last December in the north end of the city.

The Petes can advance to round number two tonight with a win over the Niagara IceDogs on the road. Goaltender Dylan Wells has played well in the series and says he isn't surprised Peterborough has had early success this post-season.

OJHL: COUGARS GETTING READY FOR TRENTON

The Northeastern Conference Final of the OJHL will be a good match-up with two rivals facing off. The Cobourg Cougars will take on the Trenton Golden Hawks with Game 1 on Friday. General Manager for the Cougars, Brent Tully, says both teams are stronger in different areas.

PETERBOROUGH MAN FACING MORE CHARGES IN OTTAWA VALLEY

A Peterborough man is facing more charges related to sexual assaults that took place almost 40 years ago. According to information from Renfrew County OPP, more charges were brought against 74 year-old Stan McBride Jr. last month after more complainants came forward.

LOCAL GROUP PROMOTES DRINKING MORE WATER

One organization has been trying to make water more available in a campaign that started in December. It was 'World Water Day' last week and the Healthy Kids Community Challenge celebrated its 'Water Does Wonders' campaign.

EMERGENCY CREWS KEPT BUSY DEALING WITH ACCIDENTS

Emergency crews were called to deal with a couple of incidents in the city. At least one person needed to be taken to the PRHC following a three-vehicle crash at Sherbrooke and Medical Drive around 4:30 yesterday afternoon.

RED CROSS OFFICE SET TO CLOSE
