Police are asking for help in locating a missing 59 year old woman. Maureen Collins has not been seen since Monday during the day at Dr J's BBQ and Brew at Aylmer and King, and police and family are concerned for her safety.

A 53 year-old Toronto man is facing a few charges, after giving Peterborough County OPP a false name, when they pulled him over. The driver was stopped on Crowley Line, just after 9:00 last night told the officer he was someone else.

HAMILTON MAN ARRESTED FOR ROBBING LINDSAY CONVENIENCE STORE IN 2014

A Hamilton man has been arrested, in Hamilton, on a warrant issued by City of Kawartha Lakes Police. Officers here had been looking for two men, who took $4,000 worth of cigarettes from a Lindsay convenience store in January 2014.

WEST NILE VIRUS DETECTED IN LINDSAY

Lab results received by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit this week confirm a batch of mosquitoes collected in Lindsay on July 23 have tested positive for West Nile virus.

PETERBOROUGH POLICE LAUNCH ARSON INVESTIGATION

Peterborough Police have launched an arson investigation following an incident in the area of Monaghan and Orpington. Early Wednesday morning, a group of males allegedly set fire to a Peterborough Utility Service pole and then fled.

LAKERS FINISH REGULAR SEASON WITH A WIN OVER KITCHENER-WATERLOO

The Century 21 Lakers will enter the playoffs on a winning note. Peterborough closed out the regular season with a 12-4 win over Kitchener-Waterloo. Shawn Evans scored six goals and added five helpers, coming within one point of the MSL scoring lead. He spoke with Extra 90.5 following the game.

THE CITY OPENS WEST-END SPLASH PAD

There is now another option to beat the heat for the rest of the summer. It started two years ago as an idea to council, and yesterday, some of the city's youngest residents were running through the west end's first splash pad at the corner of Sherbrooke and Kinsmen Way.
