ROOM MATES THWART THEFT AT LINDSAY APARTMENT

A pair of Lindsay room mates foiled a break-in attempt early this morning. KLPS were called just after 5:00 a.m., when the room mates were woken up by noises in their Mary Street apartment. The pair found two men in the living room, trying to disconnect electronics.

COUPLE ARGUES OVER CAR, ARREST MADE

A fight between a couple, about a car, has led to charges against a 34 year-old Lindsay woman. Kawartha Lakes Police say the woman had allegedly taken her boyfriend's car without consent and never brought it back.

TRUCK AND LAPTOP SWIPED IN CKL

Kawartha Lakes Police are looking into the overnight theft of a pick up truck in North Lindsay. The bright blue, 2010 Ford F-150 was taken from a driveway sometime between 10:00 last night and 6:00 this morning. Police say a laptop was also taken from another car in the driveway.

CAR, TV AND CAMERAS STOLEN FROM HOME ON WENTWORTH

A pile of electronics and a car were taken from a home on Wentworth Street earlier this week. Sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning, someone got into the house while the residents were sleeping and took a TV, two cameras and car keys.

ARREST MADE IN PETERBOROUGH FOLLOWING BANK ROBBERY IN TWEED

A 31 year-old man wanted by police in Central Hastings was picked up in Peterborough. The accused was taken into custody yesterday by City police, in connection to a bank robbery and stolen truck from the Tweed-area. The Dodge pickup involved in the theft was recovered in Fraserville.

A local musician is getting set for a long-awaited homecoming. Robert Atyeo will be launching his sixth studio album with a special performance at The Venue tonight. He says his upbringing has had a big impact on his music over the years.

CAVAN MONAGHAN TO UNVEIL NEW INTERNATIONAL PUMPER/TANKER TRUCK

The partnership between Cavan Monaghan and OLG is helping the Township pay for a new toy for the fire department. Today, officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to show off their new International Pumper/Tanker truck.

MORE THAN 1800 STUDENTS READY TO GRADUATE FROM TRENT

Preparations at Trent are continuing ahead of what will be a historic week at the university. Convocation ceremonies will be held Tuesday through Friday next week with more than 1,800 students graduating. Among the high honours, 19 students will receive doctorates and 99 will get a masters degree.
