LINDSAY DRINKING WATER IS CONSIDERED SAFE

Health Unit officials are stressing to Lindsay residents that the drinking water is not unsafe. Raw sewage spilled into the Scugog River this morning because of the heavy rains.

SOME PARTS OF THE COUNTY COULD BE WITHOUT POWER SUNDAY

More than 3000 Hydro One customers are going to be without power later on this weekend. The company says there are planned power outages from 9am to 1pm on Sunday. Crews will have to turn off the hydro in parts of Peterborough County for repairs.

STUDENT FROM CHINA DIES IN BOATING INCIDENT

A 20 year old from China has lost his life as a result of a boating incident last night. OPP say a group of students were out on Chemong Lake taking a tour of the area on a pontoon boat. Officials say the victim fell from the bow of the boat and became entangled under it.

WOMAN CHARGED IN ROAD RAGE INCIDENT

A 35 year-old woman has been charged with assault and mischief following a road rage incident. Back on May 26th, Peterborough Police say two women got into an argument while at the intersection of Chamberlain and Monaghan and continued it on foot out on the street.

LAX: LAKERS MOVE TO 7-0 ON THE MSL SEASON

The Lakers continue to roll through their MSL schedule. Peterborough thumped Oakville last night 11-4 in front of a crowd of 2,700 at the Memorial Centre. Captain Robert Hope says it's been amazing how well the team has played with so many still missing from its lineup.

COMMUNITY BBQ HELD IN NORTHCREST WARD

Those in Northcrest Ward had a chance to speak up on some of the issues they have concerns with. Last night, Councillors Andrew Beamer and Dave Haacke held a community barbeque at Queen Elizabeth School. Haacke says one topic was brought up more than others.

HOSPICE PETERBOROUGH DECIDES TO BUILD NEW FACILITY

Hospice Peterborough will be building a brand new facility at the corner of London and Reid Streets. Last month, the organization revealed there were a number of structural issues, protected bat colonies, and poor soil conditions inside the Victorian home that stand on the property already.

FATAL BOATING INCIDENT ON CHEMONG LAKE

We're expecting to learn more information today about a death on Chemong Lake. The Peterborough Examiner reports a young man died last night after being stuck in the motor of a boat on the lake just before 6 o'clock near Lakeside Drive.
