UPDATE: City Police confirm the OPP helicopter has been called in to assist in the search for Joseph Petrunia. --- City police are asking residents in the north end of Peterborough to check their backyards, any outbuildings, around decks and any other areas for a missing man.

Students at Fleming College got up close and personal with one of Canada's best chefs. Rob Rossi, who finished runner-up in last year's season of Top Chef Canada, spoke with graduating from Culinary Management and Hotel and Restaurant Management classes.

Tomorrow is good Friday, so there's lots of closures around the region. City Hall is closed tomorrow and City-run waste and recycling collection will be moved to Monday. City buses aren't running and Go Transportation will run on a Saturday schedule.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR SWEARING AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STAFF

Peterborough Police had to arrest a woman causing a scene at a local elementary school yesterday. Officers were called to the school on Monaghan Road around 3:15 p.m., after the woman was seen yelling and screaming at office staff and teachers, and eventually police.

TORONTO YOUTH CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AT SELWYN GROUP HOME

A 15 year-old from Toronto has been charged with an assault, after an incident at a Lindsay Road group home yesterday. Authorities say the accused allegedly try to steal a purse from a staff-member at the home, and assaulted that staff member in the process.

OTONABEE MAN WINS CAR AT KAWARTHA DOWNS

It's not cash, but another Peterborough-area man has won a major prize through the OLG Slots at Kawartha Downs. 69 year-old Gary Benson, of Otonabee, picked up a brand new 2014 GM Vehicle, after winning the License to Win Promotion at Kawartha Downs earlier this week.

A PAIR OF FORMER PETES HIGHLIGHT THE OHL WESTERN CONFERENCE FINAL

A pair of former Petes will take part in the OHL Western Conference Final. Game 1 between the Guelph and Erie goes tonight. The Storm won the season series 4-2 against the Otters with the help of Steven Trojanovic and Stephen Pierog.

There will be changes to the Peterborough Lakers coaching staff with the MSL season just over a month away. Ron Keast has retired and won't be back as an assistant coach, and the other assistant Jim Milligan, has stepped down.
