Car keys and cash were among the items stolen during a break-and-enter at an Aylmer Street home. City police say a man and his wife were asleep, when they woke up to find an unknown man in their bedroom.

DISTURBANCE LEADS TO ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON CHARGE AGAINST A 19 YEAR-OLD MAN

A 19 year-old Peterborough man has been arrested following an altercation between a group of males near Stewart and Dalhousie. During the disturbance yesterday afternoon, City police say the accused hit a 22 year-old man with a piece of a metal rebar.

Local pollinator populations are struggling and there's a seminar this weekend on how to protect them and their habitats. Pollinators are bugs, like bees, that carry pollen from plant-to-plant, which in turn helps them grow.

CITY POLICE SEARCH FOR MISSING 85 YEAR-OLD MAN

The search for a missing elderly man is underway. City police say an 85 year-old man from Fairhaven was last seen yesterday around the noon hour. He is described as about 5'3, 130 pounds and has thin, grey hair.

CMHA WANTS YOU TO 'DANCE LIKE NOBODY IS WATCHING'

The Canadian Mental Health Association wants you to "dance like nobody is watching" as part of a new initiative. The contest was started by Claire Barron, a Guelph woman, who lost a friend from Peterborough to suicide.

OVER 10,000 ONLINE VOTES CAST IN MONDAY'S ELECTION

It looks like a good chunk of eligible voters took advantage of online ballots in Peterborough. The city says 10,285 people voted online in Monday night's election, making up 38 per cent of the total votes cast.

WOMAN FALLS OFF BRIDGE WHILE TAKING PICTURES

A woman is in hospital in Toronto with serious injuries after falling from a Port Hope bridge earlier today. Police say the woman was taking photos from the Cranberry Road overpass, just east of Highway 28, and fell into a live lane of the highway.

21 YEAR-OLD MAN CHARGED WITH BREAK-AND-ENTER AND ASSAULT

A 21 year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged in connection to an alleged break-in and assault at a south-end home. During the incident, which involved two men who knew each other, a 20 year-old victim claims the accused assaulted him and then left.

City police are on the hunt for suspects following a violent incident at a home on Aylmer Street. Officers say last night, four men knocked on the door of the residence and then forced their way in.
