The company that operates Peterborough's airport has broken ground on a new headquarters. Loomex Group put the shovel to soil on a new 22-thousand square foot building on the airport property today.

56 YEAR-OLD CHARGED IN GEORGE STREET ASSAULT

A 56 year-old Peterborough woman is facing an assault charge following an incident on George Street. City police say last Tuesday; the accused allegedly approached two women and asked them for money. When the request was denied, she reportedly pulled a victims hair and stomped on her foot.

PETES FINISH PRE-SEASON ON WINNING NOTE

The Petes closed out the pre-season with a win against the North Bay Battalion. After falling behind 1-0, Peterborough rallied to pick up a 3-1 victory last night at the Memorial Centre. Head Coach Jody Hull was pleased with the win, but acknowledged the team needs to get off to better starts.

LAKEFIELD OPENS COJHL SEASON WITH A WIN IN CLARINGTON

The Lakefield Chiefs opened up their COJHL season on the right foot in Clarington. The defending Schmalz Cup champs skated to a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Eagles. The Chiefs rallied to a 4-3 win after being down 2-0 in the second period.

A SUCCESSFUL TRIP TO SENECA FOR THE TRENT MEN'S RUGBY TEAM

A little road trip is what the doctor ordered for the Trent men's rugby team. The Excalibur picked up their first win over the season with a 43-24 win over the Seneca Sting on Wednesday. Trent's record is now 1-1 on the season with the only loss coming against Fleming.

TRENT MEN FALL 4-0 TO U OF T IN OUA SOCCER

It was not a good night on the pitch at Justin Chiu Stadium. The Trent men's soccer team was blanked by the University of Toronto 4-0. The Excalibur fall to 1-4-1 on the season and have only scored two goals so far. Trent will be back in action on Saturday at Nipissing.
