ROTARY CLUB HELPING OUT IN CAMBODIA

The BEL Rotary Club is doing its part to help out on the international scene. Member Tony Davidson, a local financial advisor, will be heading to Cambodia with some of his family to help build a school. The Rotary Club is looking for donations to put toward the project.

A multi-million dollar roads program will launch throughout the Kawarthas this Spring. Officials say there are a number of roads across Kawartha Lakes that area ready for a facelift or an overhaul this year.

Costs for fire protection in Hamilton Township will rise by 5.6 percent this year . But the proposed increase is whittled down to a mere 1.6 percent when accounting changes are taken into account .

63 YEAR-OLD WOMAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

Peterborough Police have laid charges against a 63 year-old woman after a crash near Kennedy Road at the 115. Around 9:30 on January 29th, a vehicle left the road and ended up in a ditch. In total, there was about $15,000 in damage done to the vehicle and street signs.

WOMAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

An arrest has been made in connection to an assault investigation. Peterborough Police say last Thursday, a 33 year-old man was allegedly kicked in the leg while at an address on Brock Street. Rhonda Michelle Jacobs was taken into custody yesterday.

ERRATIC DRIVER ARRESTED NEAR CRESCENT AND LAKE

An 18 year-old man is facing charges after a vehicle was driven erratically along George Street. Peterborough Police say last Friday, the accused was at the wheel of a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed and almost caused collisions.
