SUSPECT WANTED FOLLOWING ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN ON WALKERFIELD AVENUE

The search for suspects is on following an attempted break-in on Walkerfield Avenue. Peterborough Police say sometime between 10 o'clock Tuesday morning and 3 in the afternoon, a suspect tried to get into the house while the owner was away.

UPDATE: CARDIOVASCULAR REHAB PROGRAM AVAILABLE IN PETERBOROUGH

People in Peterborough suffering from vascular disease now have a local alternative for rehabilitation. This morning, officials with the Central East LHIN announced the 'Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention' program will be running at the Sports and Wellness Centre.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

A 20 year-old woman has been taken into custody following a traffic stop. Yesterday morning, Peterborough Police pulled over a vehicle near Bethune and Dalhousie after a collision and found a woman who had been wanted on a previous warrant.

THE TIME IS NOW FOR LOCAL EVENTS TO APPLY FOR CELEBRATE ONTARIO GRANTS

With any luck, plenty of local festivals and events will be able to get a helping hand from the province again next year. The province is now accepting applications for Celebrate Ontario grants for 2016. Last year in Peterborough, Musicfest received $67,500. The deadline to apply is November 4th.

OPP SEARCHING FOR VANDALS FOLLOWING INCIDENT IN FENELON FALLS

The OPP are looking for the public's help to find some vandals who have been vandalizing property in Fenelon Falls. Overnight, culprits caused damage to buildings, vehicles and a church. Officials are hoping a member of the public will come forward with information relating to these events.

MAYOR BENNETT HOPES FOR GREAT TURNOUT AT ANNUAL BLOOD DRIVE

As the long-weekend approaches, it's a great time to consider giving blood. Today marks the kick-off to the Mayor Daryl Bennett Blood Drive, an initiative that started back in 2010. Peterborough's mayor joined Peterborough Morning Drive recently to talk about the event.

FIRE OFFICIALS WARN ABOUT DRYER FIRES

Local fire officials are spreading the word about a rising number of dryer fires. Fire Inspector with Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service, Ron Woolfrey, says a lot of the problems are being caused by a lack of maintenance.

MONEY COMING FOR THE CENTRAL EAST LHIN
