PRAN GETS $200,000 FROM FEDDEV

Some great news for Peterborough's Regional "Angel Network", which helps to fund small and start-up businesses in our area. Minister of State Gary Goodyear has announced P-RAN will recieve up to 200-thousand dollars from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, or FedDev.

Dean Del Mastro's sentencing on a conviction of elections fraud has officially been moved. The former Peterborough MP wasn't in court this morning, as Justice Lisa Cameron rescheduled the hearing to January 27th in Peterborough.

EARLY MORNING INCIDENT LEADS TO CHARGES FOR PETERBOROUGH PAIR

City police have made two arrests following an early morning incident. Officers were called around 3:40 a.m. to deal with a domestic dispute that was taking place. While investigating, the accused both became physically aggressive with police.

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN; PRICES AT TIM HORTONS GOING UP

Tim Hortons is blaming lack of rain in Brazil for its decision to raise coffee prices. Next week, the cost of a cup of coffee will rise by an average of 10-cents. That being said, the company says the increase might vary by region.

ST. PETER, TASS AND CRESTWOOD ALL LOSE IN HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY

It was a tough day on the ice for local high school hockey teams. St. Peter was downed 3-2 by Cobourg West on Thursday, while Thomas A. Stewart was edged by Norwood 4-3. Rounding out the action, Crestwood was beaten 4-1 by Campbellford.
