Peterborough Police are continuing to warn residents about scams circulating through the area. In a recent incident, a 60 year old woman received a phone call, suggesting that she owed $3000 from her 2011-2012 tax return, and that she would be arrested if she didn't pay.

OPP LOOKING FOR HELP IN LOCATING A WANTED MAN

Police are asking for help in locating a wanted male. Peterborough County OPP are on the hunt for 29 year old Ryan Scott Mooney. They say he may be in the Oshawa or Durham area. He is wanted for sexual assault and sexual interference.

FAIL TO REMAIN INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

Peterborough County OPP are asking for help from the public as they continue to investigate a fail to remain crash on County Road 29 on Monday afternoon. At around 4 o'clock, two motorcycles were traveling north near the Giant Tiger.

DRUGS AND WEAPONS SEIZED IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT RAID

Police have laid a number of charges after a warrant search at a downtown apartment building on Wednesday night. Officers executed the warrants at around 9:30pm at Brock Towers and seized cocaine, hydromorph and a set of brass knuckles.

PAVING WORK MEANS LANE RESTRICTIONS ON LANSDOWNE

Expect traffic tie ups on a main stretch of Peterborough road next month. The City says Coco Paving Inc. will do some pavement preservation work on Lansdowne, between the Parkway and Park Street South, starting on September 14th and being finished sometime this fall.

RIDER TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER MOTORCYCLE CRASH

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital yesterday, after a crash in Kawartha Lakes. OPP say the bike went off of Peace Road, between Emily Park and Centerline Roads, around 2:45 yesterday afternoon.
