A 27 year-old Peterborough man is facing some serious charges, following an online relationship gone awry. The man had been conversing with a girl from Lindsay, who he thought was 16 years old.

LINDSAY RESIDENT FALLS VICTIM TO "BAIL SCAM"

CKL Police are warning again about the "Bail Scam", also known as the "Family Emergency Scam". A Lindsay resident told police they recieved two phone calls late last week, one from someone claiming their daughter had been arrested and then later, another call from a man claiming to be a lawyer.

GUN INCIDENT IN LINDSAY WAS NOT A ROBBERY AT TIM HORTONS

Police are looking to put to rest rumours of a holdup in Lindsay over the weekend. Police were called to a Tim Hortons on Lindsay Street on Saturday afternoon with reports that a young male was seen pointing a pistol at another young male.

BUDS ADD BREWER AT DEADLINE, SHIP JOKINEN AND HOLZER AWAY

It appears the Leafs did get a player back, in that earlier deal for Olli Jokinen. Along with the conditional 6th round pick, the Buds get forward Joakim Lindstrom. Toronto also sent Korbinian Holzer to Anaheim today, for blueliner Eric Brewer and a 5th round pick.

It's not the big deal that Leafs fans were hoping for, as NHL Trade Deadline Day hit, but it's a deal none-the-less. Toronto sends newly-acquired forward Olli Jokinen to St. Louis for a sixth round draft pick in 2016.

OUT-OF-TOWNERS CHARGED AFTER SPEEDING ON HWY 115

Excessive speed and alleged alcohol consumption have led to charges against an Oshawa man. OPP stopped a car on Highway 115, near Tapley Quarter Line early Sunday morning, after they clocked it going 185 kilometres an hour. The highway is marked as a 100 zone in that area.

SNOWMOBILERS CHARGED AFTER SKIPPING OPP RIDE CHECK

A pair of snowmobilers have been charged, after flying through a RIDE check, on a trail in Otonabee-South Monaghan this past weekend. A check point was set up on O-F-S-C Trail E-108 Sunday evening and noticed three riders stop about 50 metres short of officers.

IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES LAID IN PETERBOROUGH LAST WEEK

City Police laid a pair of impaired driving charges last week. Early Monday mornning they were called by an employee of a local fast-food restaurant, who told them a car had sped into the parking lot and almost hit another vehicle.

PETERBOROUGH POLICE STILL SEARCHING FOR CRAIG MCLAUGHLIN

City Police are getting concerned, as they continue to look for a missing 45 year-old city man. Craig McLaughlin was last seen on Saturday, February 21st, leaving his home on Park Street North, around 9:30 p.m. He was driving a blue four-door Subaru, with the license plate 4-4-8-1-1-2-2.
