The Lakefield Chiefs rolled for a second straight game. The Chiefs blanked Uxbridge 3-0 in Game 5 of their semifinal series last night. Michael Christie picked up a second consecutive shutout. GM Tyler Revoy praised his goalie's play on 'The Regulars'.

BOLLYWOOD-THEMED GALA PLANNED FOR THIS MONTH

Bollywood is coming to Peterborough. The PRHC Foundation is hosting a Bollywood-themed gala to raise money for more breast cancer screening devices. CEO Lesley Heighway says the event will bring hospital staff and community members together for a fun-filled night.

As the investigation into an accident in the city continues, officers are looking to speak to a witness. Peterborough Police say a woman saw what happened during a crash late yesterday afternoon near Charlotte and Aylmer.

ANOTHER REMINDER TO STAY OFF THE ICE IN CERTAIN AREAS

Another reminder; no ice is safe ice. Two fishermen had to be rescued from Rice Lake in Roseneath, south of Peterborough yesterday after going through the ice into the cold water. Firefighters from Alnwick/Haldimand helped in the effort as did those from Hamilton Township.

FLOOD WATCH ISSUED AS HEAVY RAIN ROLLS IN

A Special Weather Statement is in effect as a big dumping of rain is headed our way. Geoff Coulson from Environment Canada says it looks like it could start late tonight or early tomorrow Coulson says the rain could cause ponding as the ground hasn't had enough time to thaw.
