If you bought a Kidde smoke detector for your home, between January and May of this year, you need to take a look at it. That's because a glitch has been found in certain models that could stop the detector from sounding the alarm, and the products are being recalled.

MINOR GAS LEAK REPORTED NEAR O'CARROLL ROAD

There's been another reported natural gas leak in Peterborough, but again it's nothing too serious. The Examiner says emergency crews responded to 244 O'Carroll Avenue around 1:00 this afternoon, but Enbridge technicians were on scene a short time later.

A pair of break-ins on George Street remain under investigation. City police say an assortment of jewellery was stolen from a duplex last weekend. The theft is valued at $1,100.

RESIDENTS ASKED TO KEEP EYES PEELED FOR STOLEN CAR

Members of the public are being asked to keep their eyes peeled for a stolen car. City police say a 2004 Black Suzuki Aerio was stolen from the rear parking lot of a Townsend Street home either last Tuesday or Wednesday. The licence plate number is ASHR 615.

29 YEAR-OLD WOMAN CHARGED FOLLOWING DISTURBANCE AT DOWNTOWN ESTABLISHMENT

A late night incident at a downtown establishment has a 29 year-old woman facing charges. Over the weekend, City police helped a security officer in removing a woman who had been aggressive with staff at an unnamed spot.

SECOND ARREST MADE IN ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

A 56 year-old Peterborough man turned himself into police as part of an ongoing assault investigation. Last Wednesday, a 58 year-old man was allegedly assaulted by two men at his house. Gordon Robert King is charged with assault and break and enter to commit an indictable offence.

A PAIR OF LOSSES FOR THE MUSKIES OVER THE WEEKEND

It was a tough end to a busy weekend for the Lindsay Muskies. The Muskies played to tie against Georgetown on Friday and were thumped 8-1 by Mississauga on Saturday. Rounding out the action, Lindsay was beaten again, 6-4 by Burlington last night dropping their record to 2-2-1 on the season.

A WINLESS WEEKEND ON THE ROAD FOR THE PETES

The Petes are no longer undefeated in the pre-season after dropping a pair of games over the weekend. Peterborough lost 6-1 to Belleville on Saturday and 5-4 in a shootout in Pickering against the Generals last night.
