POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE SUDDEN DEATH IN SELWYN TOWNSHIP

Police remain at the scene of a home on Deerfield Crescent in Selwyn Township and will remain there for some time. OPP tell us that they are investigating the sudden death of a 61 year old man outside of the home. Forensic Identification Units and Crime Scene Investigators are at the home.

PETERBOROUGH'S MPP GIVES A RECAP OF THE BUDGET

Local reaction to the Ontario budget is rolling in. Peterborough MPP Jeff Leal called the Extra 90.5 newsroom this morning from Hong Kong to give his thoughts. Leal says the name of the game this time around is infrastructure funding and that will greatly benefit the area.

STEPHENS SHINES IN CANADA'S QUARTER-FINAL WIN

Mitchell Stephens is once again turning heads in Switzerland at the World Under-18 Hockey Championship. The Peterborough-native had two goals and an assist for Canada in its 5-3 quarter-final win over Sweden yesterday. Stephens now has 9 points in five games.

There are just a couple of days left for the Greenwing Fishing Weekend at the Peterborough Liftlock. The 28th annual event runs both Saturday and Sunday, but Saturday is reserved for the little anglers 15 and under.

Major George Bennett's name, as a member of Peterborough's rich military history, has been had an important light shined upon it. Exactly 100 years ago yesterday, Bennett died in the second battle of Ypres, making him the city's first officer casualty.

CANOE MUSEUM GIFT SHOP GETS NEW NAME

After considering almost 800 submissions from the public, the gift shop at the Canadian Canoe Museum has a new name. The committee in charge has picked 'Tumblehome', a naval term meaning 'the narrowing of a ship's hull with greater distance above the water'.

PLENTY OF MONEY SET ASIDE FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IN 2015 PROVINCIAL BUDGET

Ontario's Finance Minister has committed to spending more on infrastructure, over the next 10 years, than ever before. The document totals $131.9 billion, with $11.9 billion committed to infrastructure funding this year.
